This cable consists of a Mini DisplayPort male on one end and a DVI male on the other end. It is typically used to connect a Mini DisplayPort source (MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, etc.) to a DVI monitor. This cable in uni-directional, therefore it will only work from a Mini DisplayPort source to a DVI display and not in the reverse direction.
